Import / Export¶
TunnelCAD supports multiple file formats for exchanging project data with other software and for archiving tunnel monitoring records.
Supported formats¶
- Native format –
.tun TunnelCAD’s own XML-based project format (IQML). Stores the complete project state including alignments, sections, templates, volumes, styles, and settings. See TUN File Format Reference for the schema reference.
- LandXML 1.2 / 2.0
Industry-standard XML format for civil engineering and survey data. TunnelCAD can both import and export LandXML files, with optional TunnelCAD-specific extensions encoded as
<Feature>elements. See LandXML Import and Export.- ASCII measurements
Per-section line points exchanged as comma- or whitespace-delimited text files (XYZ, station/offset/Z, or station/offset/dZ). Both directions are supported through the same column-mapping engine. See Measurement Import and Export.
- Legacy TCM
The file format used by earlier versions of TunnelCAD. A one-way conversion tool reads
.tcmfiles and produces.tunprojects. See Legacy TCM Conversion.- DXF templates
Cross-section design profiles can be imported from DXF files. This workflow is covered in the Templates chapter.
Export-only formats¶
- Mass tables
Volume and area computation results can be exported to CSV or XLSX spreadsheet files from the mass table dialog.
- Analytics reports
The analytics module exports clearance reports and deviation data to DXF drawings and XLSX spreadsheets.
